Cozy Factory Hall Home

If you’re a fan of vintage, then you’re going to love this home design. More than a decade ago, this was just an empty factory hall with old floor, deteriorated electricity power system and squared off arc windows. It was one of the abandoned architectural jewels in Southern Germany, waiting to be discovered. The building’s two large, empty floors offer a vast field of creativity. I’m euphoric that its new owners, Petra, and Eddie, have managed to give it a good use.

Today, this Factory Hall house is an excellent example of the modern shabby chic style. Over the past years, Eddie and Petra were collecting vintage furniture. The desks, tables, and cabinets were repainted several times until the collector’s items ended being in a monochrome color scheme. Every little detail has been thought about.

The home looks a little bit old-fashioned from the outside. Its walls have a raw brick texture painted white. The brick wall texture can also be seen in one of the interior walls. On the other hand, that gives this house a unique touch and reminds us that this beautiful thanks to their color pattern and vintage style harmonically in a way that it serves as a great backdrop for photo shoots. Large arc windows provide lots of sunlight, which is a dream made true for any photographer.

The interior furniture doesn’t have a unified style, but every piece merges thanks to their coloring scheme and vintage style harmonically. Colors are white for the floor, walls, and ceiling. The largest pieces of furniture, like the main dining table, the rug and shelves are in light brown tones. The shortest ones, like the chairs and the comfortable table stand, are dark brown, almost black.

As soon as you climb the minimalistic wooden stairs, you’ll notice that the second floor feels slightly different than the first one. It's smooth, snow-white walls, floor, and ceiling, are contrasting with several dark details such as a chair, a monochrome painting and a couple of black door handles. That difference gives the second floor an incredibly spacious feeling. There you can find the TV room, bedrooms, bathroom, and Eddie’s office.
