Dream Hamptons Summer Home

It isn’t easy to find a man helping his wife in the home improvement projects, especially if they hold a notable title. However, for Mark and Blythe Harris, that isn’t the case. Mark is a chief executive and founder of a tech-based law firm, Axiom Law. Blythe is also a senior officer in a social shopping company. Mark got involved in the house improvement project with his wife, and together, they developed this fabulous summer home.

About The House

This home has been sketched with different tastes, along with the help of a renowned interior architect, Elizabeth Cooper. Starting from the front door, the home is one that will inspire you. It is spacious and quite airy. The floor is made of wide planks, and the kitchen cabinets are repainted white. This way, there is a light environment that also boosts the mood. Surprisingly, it is Cooper who came up with the brilliant bright kitchen color shades and other interior designs.

The Joint Forces

You can call them the Three Musketeers, but Mark, Cooper and Blythe combined forced to give this summer home an incredible look. They included nautical-themed antiques, white shiplap walls, natural-fabric carpets, among others. You can find these elements in the local store, the Hamptons.

Everyone respects the founders of something or the history of somewhere they value. And as Mark says, they wanted to celebrate the history and sense of the place by bringing in the sea captain ideas in the home. This is included in the front room, which is a sitting area-cum-library as you enter the home. To make it other sea captain based, they added a ship lantern, and there is a wall of bookcases that concern boating and whaling.

Mark might be a dedicated chief executive of a recognized law firm, but he has a deep love for art. Other than that, he wanted to do it for his wife, and the loving baby to come. At the time of the designing, Blythe was about a month away from giving birth. Mark said he wanted to ensure that the home was ready and welcoming enough for the soon to be born baby.

Luckily, most of the needed work were based on the artistic nature. Much of the necessary details were already in place. So did Mark get involved because it was just about the cosmetic, or was he excited about converting the position to a dream house? Either way, you have to admit that this is a home that brings out the nautical theme in a modern way.

So if you also want to set up a beach residence away from the beach, you will need to apply blue and crisp white colors, natural fabrics, and integrate the nautical accents.
